Our firm offers customized portfolio management.
Our portfolios are actively managed with our customer’s unique investment objectives in mind. TrustMerit Capital has a multi-style, multi-capitalization portfolio management approach. Our portfolios are prudently diversified using a mixture of individual securities and some no-load mutual funds.
While asset allocation is important, we believe there is more to this process than targeting a percentage of the portfolio in equities, bonds and cash equivalents. We monitor all of the domestic and global economic and political events that can contribute to our portfolio management decisions. These events add to volatility in the markets, which can allow us to take advantage of these price changes and add value to our clients’ portfolios.
In addition to individual stocks and equities, some of our portfolios own fixed income securities. These may include individual tax-free municipals, as well as bond mutual funds. The total return potential, as well as current income being paid by these holdings, is viewed in the context of our customers’ desired income, tax bracket and investment time horizons. In a low interest rate environment, we are apt to substitute high yielding equities as proxies for fixed income.
We would be happy to discuss our investment philosophy and portfolio management discipline with you. Contact us today.
When selecting individual equities and constructing portfolios, our discipline focuses on fundamental analysis, but we also use technical analysis and earnings momentum screens.
The result of our disciplined, unique investment management process is that our portfolios may take months to become fully invested. These portfolios are diversified across all 11 equity market sectors. At times we may not hold any positions in a sector for a variety of reasons. Our portfolios will hold securities considered to be “value” stocks as well as those considered to be “growth” stocks. We have a bias towards “growth” stocks over long periods of time. All portfolios will have core equity holdings, that are typically large company stocks with household names. These core holdings will be complemented by capital appreciation and special situation holdings which are medium and smaller size companies that may offer higher growth potential.
Though past performance is not an indicator of future returns, we believe our investment philosophy and our disciplined, multi-style, multi-capitalization approach contributes to reducing risk while offering an attractive, risk adjusted return in all types of market environments.
